Recently, I opened a new brokerage account and created a new investment strategy in order to feel and observe the weight of mindless spending. This plan will be called the “Mirror” plan, and it should go as follows:
Any drip or incidental spending must be reflected in my investments. Even after buying groceries, whenever an opportunity for spending presents itself and I don’t buy, I still dedicate the amount I would have spent to investments.
The table below shows records of my real and notional spending, along with brokerage deposits as of 24 July 2025.
After Q3, I will contrast my portfolio with asset allocation models, despite Charlie Munger and Warren Buffett’s views on Modern Portfolio Theory:
